Big bears Capital Economics roar at rents

Famously bearish on house prices, Capital Economics now turns its attention to the London lettings market, predicting an end to rising rents as tenant demand wanes. The pressures facing the property market - unemployment, frozen wages - won't, they argue, result in a booming rental market, but exactly the same difficulties, except they'll be about meeting rents rather than meeting mortgage payments. Done well with our London properties bought around 2 years ago and we did put the rent up a little last months as they have gone up. More tenants and not enough high quality properties. We have a great tenant so we didn't rise it as much as the market dictated, so everyone is happy...well mostly!!
