Developers put on their sensible pants

Hundreds of buyers of city apartments are facing the courts, after trying to walk away from off-plan deals.

It seems their biggest miscalculation was thinking they could simply leap out of the developers’ bed, throw on their clothes and walk away from deals that had begun to look ugly in the new post-credit crunch economic dawn. Faced with unwanted city apartments to bring up alone, the same property developers who’d been all floozy and fun-loving back in 2007 and early 2008, have put on their sensible pants and called in the lawyers.
