Innovative "home potential" service

It's called betternest.co.uk, and it might appeal to anybody with second thoughts about moving in the current slightly unstable market. A kind of off-the-peg design service, it investigates any planning issues related to your address, examines photographs and floor plans, and then returns a report suggesting ways to maximise the value of your home - by adding an extra bedroom, or bathroom, or extending the kitchen - without needing planning permission. The report combines local property price information with the cost of suggested works, to come up with an overall profit figure. Obviously, we're talking ball parks... especially in the current market climate. But betternest's both clever and useful.

Just looked at the site, very impressed. Wife and I are not sure whether to move or improve, this seems to answer everything, might give it a go.

Is this a new service/company?

Paul

I am glad that we managed to impress you and thank you for your feedback.

The Property Potential Report can be used as a tool to decide whether it is best to move or improve.

The double benefit of the report in your situation is that it will answer your question, do I move or improve? But also, if you do decide to move it will also act as a great marketing tool for selling the property, you will be able to market the full potential to interested buyers, allowing agents to show the property to more people.

To answer your question, we have been live for one month following an extensive research and development programme. We are the first company in the UK to offer this service and believe it will transform the way people buy and sell property.

If you have any more questions about the service feel free to get in touch.

Our London property is for sale, so it's good to see Simon's comment about the Property Potential Report acting as a marketing tool.

Certainly our house seems to have potential for extending and given the current london property market, having the report may actually achieve a sale!
