An interesting piece in the Economist takes a closer look at the costs associated with obscene wealth and a London lifestyle. Lifestyle inflation, just like house price inflation, is greater at the top, according to the Stonehage "Affluent London Living Index". Caviar is up 28% in the year to July, Range Rovers are up 20%, a box at Chelsea is up 25% and the vintage wine market is booming. But it's not all bad news for the plutocrat and lifepartner:

Breast implants for the high-earning woman are down 10%.
