Just in time for this afternoon's Bank of England committee meeting (I know, it shouldn't influence them, but bet'ya it does) Halifax reports a 1.2% fall in the national house price index for June. The first half 2006 figure remains up 4.5% (2.6% in the second quarter), and London's annual growth rate - although quite possibly distorted by big gains at the very top of the market - stands at 10.9%.
