The story - according to Abbey's always popular annual Rent vs Buy report - is that rising house prices have made buying considerably more expensive over a 25 year period (in some regions) than renting. And one of those regions is London. Obviously, though, the numbers are utterly and completely meaningless. Because - after the 25 years - the buyers own a house worth half a million pounds.
