Rightmove (who are about to be very well off) spread the cheer today with evidence of a house price surge - or, to be precise, an asking price surge. Nationally, prices have risen 2.7% January to February, making the average asking price £201,600, the first move above £200,000 since the survey began in the summer of 2001.
