Meanwhile, on a house price tip...
New figures courtesy of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors tell us that August saw more than a little action from house hunters. Enquiries were up by the biggest leap since early last year, completions rose for a second month (by 7.5% since February), and although house prices continued to fall, it was by the smallest margin in a year. The RICS is putting this down to the recent rate cut. Interestingly, the number of properties hitting the books is beginning to fall. Find the press release on the other side of this link.
